About This Project

If you’ve struggled with forming healthy relationships, or feel a deep sense of loneliness, anxiety, or mistrust in your connections with others, you may be dealing with attachment difficulties. Attachment disorder can affect how we bond with others, how we see ourselves, and how we navigate intimacy. At FD Counselling & Therapy, I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your attachment experiences and begin to heal the patterns that may have developed over time.

What is Attachment Disorder?

Attachment disorder typically develops in childhood when early relationships — especially with primary caregivers — are inconsistent, neglectful, or abusive. This can lead to difficulties in trusting others, feeling safe in relationships, or managing emotions. You might experience:

•Difficulty trusting others or feeling abandoned easily

•Fear of rejection or feeling unworthy of love

•Anxious or avoidant behaviour in relationships

•Difficulty expressing your emotions or connecting with others

•Struggles with self-esteem and feeling ‘different’ from others

•Difficulty maintaining stable, healthy relationships

Attachment issues often stem from experiences that took place long ago, but they can continue to impact your life as an adult. The good news is, with support, you can build healthier, more fulfilling connections and start to heal the patterns that have been holding you back.

How I Can Help

In our sessions, I’ll work with you to explore how early attachment experiences may have shaped your current relationships and sense of self. We will focus on:

•Understanding the attachment patterns you’ve developed and how they show up in your life

•Rebuilding trust in yourself and others

•Developing healthier ways of relating and communicating

•Healing past wounds that are affecting your emotional wellbeing

•Building emotional regulation skills and improving self-worth
