FAQs

If you have a question, please do email me – but below are some common ones.

Starting on this journey is daunting and scary and you are bound to have questions and concerns. Blow are some common questions, but please feel free to email me if something is not covered.

Who will be my therapist?

My name is Fiona Davies and I am a qualified counsellor. I trained at ECPS and am accredited by the BPC . This means I have undertaken rigorous training and work within the BPC ethical code.

Where does the therapy take place?

I have specialist therapy rooms in Hackney – either Dalston or Stoke Newington. We can also meet online via Zoom if you prefer.

How do I get started in therapy?

Well you have found this website, you have made a start. All you do now is contact me to arrange a chat. My email address is: fd.counselling.therapy@gmail.com. I will get back to you asap.

How long is each session?

Each session lasts 50 minutes, once a week. If I am unable to attend a session you don’t pay, however if you, the client should miss a session that must paid for, but I try to be flexible and offer make-up sessions if possible. If, during the initial consultation you mention you have already booked a holiday, then you don’t pay for that missed session.

Can I change the session time?

During the initial consultation we arrange a time to suit both of us, so please consider this right at the start. From then we will meet at the same please and same time each week.

How much does it cost?

Each session costs £60. Prices are reviewed every October.

How long does therapy last?

Psychodynamic therapy is open ended, so from anything from one year onwards.

What happens when I want to end therapy?

Endings stir up lots of emotion, and if you feel the time is right to end your therapy I would ask you bring that to your sessions so we can work through a good ending.
